About Saber

¡Hola! Soy Laura, your teacher.

My mission is to guide you through your lessons and raise awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity. Through my work experience in three different continents I have developed a broad international background. This enables me to approach each student as an individual and help them with their unique learning strategies and their specific needs and goals. The feedback from my students motivated me to start my own language training company. I named it SABER which in Spanish and in Portuguese means “to have knowledge” A knowledge that goes far beyond the language itself, connecting it with the culture behind it. Saber brings life to the experience of learning a language.

Language levels

Our Language courses are all in line with the CEFR (Common European Framework Reference for languages) Its classifications go for both “general” (saber Individuals) and “business” (Saber Business) Spanish.If you have some previous knowledge of the Spanish language, during our free interview your level will be determined.After finishing one whole level, you are able to take an International Diploma. Learn more about DELE EXAMS. You can also make a Study Trip with your course and teacher or/and you can follow a Conversation course and focus your speaking and listening skills.

A1 & A2 BEGINNER

At the end of these courses you will be able to:

Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
Introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details.
Describe your daily and work routine, likings and interests
Talk about your experiences in the past and historical facts.
Express your opinion and ask the opinion of others.
Shop, interact in a restaurant.
Write and understand short texts such as forms, lists and postcards emails, newspapers or articles, job ads.

B1 & B2 INTERMEDIATE

At the end of this course you will be able to:

Understand the main points of a standard text in which familiar matters regularly encountered in work, leisure, etc. are being described.
Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
Write simple understandable text on topics, which are familiar or of personal interest.
Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
read many kinds of texts quite easily at different speeds and in different ways
talk about a wide range of topics,
Understand articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems in which the writers adopt particular stances or viewpoints.

C1 & C2 ADVANCED

At the end of this course you will be able to:

Develop an argument systematically, giving appropriate emphasis to significant points, and presenting relevant supporting detail.
Give clear detailed descriptions of complex subjects
Understand and write a wide range of texts.

Our small group classes of 6 to 12 students offer a lot of opportunities to practice your conversation skills and to have the attention you need.

Saber offers high-quality private instruction. Lessons are tailored to address individual’s particular needs and can take place in-company, at home or on-line. We offer private lessons for all levels, either individually, or in groups of two.

Saber Business

My experience in training companies and professionals, makes me adapt my courses using a new learning technique: Blended learning. I am sure we can develop and master your staff language skills and make it easier for them to communicate and do business with their colleagues abroad. Study trips: These trips are essential for professionals who need to learn more about the Hispanic culture while training their communication skills with local Hispanic people. With the guidance of our experienced and professional teacher, you will have an unforgettable language and cultural experience.

Cultural workshops: In our effort to divulgate the cultural manifestation of the language, we organize tapas, tango and salsa workshops, and we encourage learners to participate on many of the cultural event that are happening in Holland and in Europe.
